Our new quality control technician

We are thrilled to announce the latest addition to our growing team at Lucid! Please join us in welcoming Ewan, an exceptionally talented individual with a wealth of experience and expertise in biology and quality control.

A little about Ewan…

 

 

Ewan holds a remarkable academic background, with a first-class BSc in Biology. During his studies, he gained hands-on experience in an ISO15189 accredited molecular diagnostics laboratory as part of a nationwide team. There, he played a vital role in processing patient samples, particularly in testing for the SARS-CoV-2 virus responsible for COVID-19. His experience spans across various aspects of the field, including both wet lab work and data analysis, with a strong focus on microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, and bioinformatics.

At Lucid, Ewan will be serving as a Quality Control Technician, where his responsibilities will be pivotal in ensuring that all our medical device products strictly adhere to the relevant standards.

Understanding, prioritising an
meeting regulatory requirements

Why we do this

Ewan has a keen eye for detail and will be dedicated to understanding and addressing customer, technical, and medical regulatory requirements. His meticulous approach will ensure that Lucid’s products consistently meet the highest quality standards.

Design verification and
test execution

With his background in both physical products and software testing, Ewan will play a key role in the design verification process. He will be responsible for planning, executing, and documenting the necessary tests to validate our products’ performance and reliability.

 

Manufacturing quality
control and compliance

Manufacturing Quality Control and Compliance:
Ewan’s expertise extends to manufacturing quality control, where he will ensure that every Lucid product leaving the production line meets the strictest quality criteria. Additionally, he will ensure compliance with Lucid’s ISO 13485:2016 Quality Management System

Risk management and
biological evaluation

Ewan’s insights into risk management will contribute significantly to the safety and reliability of Lucid’s medical devices. He will also be involved in the planning and documentation of biological evaluations, a crucial aspect of product safety.

Safety information and
usability engineering

Manufacturing Quality Control and Compliance:
In his role, Ewan will be responsible for developing and managing safety-related information, including product labeling and instructions for use. He will also oversee the usability engineering files for multiple products.
